Terms of Service

1. The Service

Maiths provides online educational tools for practising, uploading, reviewing and marking IGCSE mathematics work. Maiths is an independent service and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or approved by Cambridge International, Pearson Edexcel or any other awarding organisation unless expressly stated in writing.

The service provides educational support only. It does not provide official examination marking, predicted grades, professional tutoring, legal advice or any guarantee of academic outcome.

2. Eligibility and Accounts

You must be legally permitted to use the service. If you are under the age required to consent to online services in your location, you may use Maiths only with permission and supervision from a parent, guardian, school or other authorised adult.

You are responsible for keeping account credentials secure, maintaining accurate account information and all activity under your account. You must notify Maiths promptly if you suspect unauthorised access.

3. Acceptable Use

• Use the service only for lawful educational purposes.
• Upload only content you own or are authorised to upload and process.
• Do not submit another person's personal information, school work or confidential material without authority.
• Do not attempt to access, test, disrupt, reverse engineer or interfere with accounts, systems, data, rate limits or security controls.
• Do not use the service to generate, upload or distribute unlawful, harmful, infringing, abusive, deceptive or privacy-invasive content.
• Do not rely on Maiths as the sole basis for high-stakes educational, disciplinary, admissions, employment or financial decisions.

4. User Content

You retain ownership of content you upload, submit or create through the service. You grant Maiths a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, copy, process, transmit, display and create outputs from that content solely as needed to operate, secure, support and improve the service and comply with law.

You represent that your content and use of the service will not violate law, infringe intellectual property rights, breach confidentiality obligations or violate another person's privacy.

5. AI-Assisted Outputs and Educational Disclaimers

Maiths may use automated systems to analyse work and generate marks, explanations, comments or study suggestions. Outputs may be inaccurate, incomplete, delayed, unavailable or inconsistent. You are responsible for reviewing outputs against authorised mark schemes, teacher judgement and applicable school or examination rules.

Maiths results are not official examination results, not examiner decisions and not a substitute for qualified professional review.

6. Subscriptions, Payments and Refunds

Paid features, prices, limits and billing periods are shown at checkout or in the product. Unless a separate written agreement says otherwise, fees are charged in advance and are non-refundable except where required by law or expressly stated by Maiths.

We may change plans, features, limits or prices. Price changes for recurring subscriptions will apply as permitted by law and any notice provided through the service or billing flow.

7. Availability and Changes

We may modify, suspend or discontinue all or part of the service at any time. We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure or available for any specific deadline, exam date, school process or assessment need.

Features may depend on third-party systems and internet connectivity. We are not responsible for failures or delays outside our reasonable control.

8. Intellectual Property

Maiths and its software, design, text, branding, workflows and other service materials are owned by Maiths or its licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, lease or exploit the service except as permitted by these terms or law.

9. Termination

You may stop using the service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if we reasonably believe you have violated these terms, created risk for Maiths or others, failed to pay fees, or used the service unlawfully or abusively. Termination does not affect rights or obligations that by their nature should survive.

10. Disclaimers

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the service and all outputs are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied or statutory, including warranties of accuracy, reliability, availability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement and merchantability.

Nothing in these terms excludes warranties, rights or remedies that cannot legally be excluded.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Maiths will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, revenue, goodwill, data, educational opportunity or academic outcome.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Maiths' total liability for all claims relating to the service will be limited to the greater of the amount you paid to Maiths for the service in the three months before the claim arose or 100 US dollars.

These limits apply regardless of the legal theory and even if a remedy fails of its essential purpose. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some limits may not apply to you.

12. Indemnity

To the fullest extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify and hold harmless Maiths from claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs and expenses, including reasonable legal fees, arising from your content, your use of the service, your violation of these terms, your violation of law or your infringement of another person's rights.

13. Governing Law and Disputes

Unless a mandatory law provides otherwise, these terms are governed by the laws applicable where Maiths is operated, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Courts in that location will have exclusive jurisdiction, except where mandatory consumer or data protection laws give you rights to bring claims elsewhere.

Before filing a claim, you agree to contact Maiths and try to resolve the dispute informally, unless urgent legal relief is required.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date shows when this version was last revised. Continued use of the service after changes become effective means you accept the updated terms.
